Our story
Fr. Emmanuel Offiong is a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. He currently serves as a hospital chaplain in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Des Moines, Iowa, United States of America (USA).
Founder
Apparently, Fr. Emmanuel Offiong is a cleric, with a passion for education and community development. After several years of experience and service in rural communities, he has been desirous of improving the lives of children in rural and marginalized communities of Cross River State, Nigeria, through access to education, health care services and economic empowerment opportunities.
A Visionary educator with a passion for holistic development. In his immense desire to actualise this dream, Fr. Emmanuel Offiong with support from family and friends, founded a non-profit organisation called MISSIONCARE, which is committed to supporting the educational and health needs of rural children.
With this, he was able to advance the enrolment of indigent children in primary and secondary schools. Also, young people have been trained in several skills acquisition endeavours.
A compassionate leader with a deep understanding of rural communities, Fr. Offiong, is a tireless advocate for rural development and recognises the inherent potentials of local communities. Through this initiative, he seeks to empower children of low-income families, and communities, in order to break the cycle of poverty and inequality in line with the message of the English preacher John Bradford: “There but for the grace of God, go I”

Dianne’s extensive experience as a dental assistant for 40 years combined with her compassionate nature makes her an asset to MissionCare. Her selfless dedication to caring for others is evident in her willingness to volunteer her time and talents within her church and beyond.
